Gaudreau, Inc. is providing full programming, planning and design services for a new science building addition and renovation at Goucher College. The Hoffberger Science Building was built in the 1950s and reflected the paper-based learning, rote memorization and teacher-led instruction that was typical of science programs in the early part of the 20th century. Gaudreau was selected to create an innovative program that was center on project-based learning pedagogy.
The existing, three-story science building is 82,265 sf and the new addition will add 44,000 sf and will include biology, chemistry, post baccalaureate pre-med program and environmental science. When completed, the entire building will be a noteworthy addition to this nationally renowned liberal arts college where all students will share an innovative and formational science experience.
