Gaudreau, Inc. provided design services for the renovation of the historic Chesterfield building.
This seven-story building was originally constructed in 1948 and is classified as historic. Appropriate steps were taken to preserve and repair the building structure and to replicate the original window design of the facade on all sides of the building. The building exterior was maintained, repaired and restored in areas where modifications were made over the years. NPS approved the addition of a limited amount of new windows which match the existing windows in size and design. NPS also approved the addition of new entrance at the first floor to serve retails tenants.
The building was stripped down to the basic building structure on the interior and refitted with new mechanical and electrical, fire protection and vertical transportation systems to bring them up to current code standards as a Class A building designed for office and laboratory use.
