Wake Forest Biotech Place

Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Biotech Place was created from the historic rehabilitation of a red- and glass-brick building and an addition that were once part of the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company complex. The project converted the historic R.J. Reynolds tobacco factory complex into a state-of-the-art medical research and biotechnology park. The rehabilitation of this building produced 242,000 sf of laboratory, meeting, office and retail space, including a business accelerator.  The project was largely funded by federal and state tax credits.
