Over a 10 year period, Gaudreau, Inc. master planned more than eight Y sites around Maryland, which was the largest expansion of any Y organization in the United States. That planning process facilitated the Y of Central Maryland in the construction of three major Family Centers in Baltimore City, Howard and Harford Counties. Comprehensive renovations were completed at the Towson, Catonsville and Carroll County centers. Each of the designs redefined how the Y could create space for their local community, families and businesses in an effort to promote life-long wellness and fitness.
Multi-purpose gymnasiums were designed with long-span column free space, regulation game lines, natural light, high ceilings and state-of-the-art sound and presentation systems to support large gatherings. Aquatic spaces enjoy multi-temperature pools for lap and aerobic use. Dehumidification was standardized to provide not only a high quality pool environment but energy savings. Health and well-being studios were designed for flexibility to support a variety of cardio offerings such as yoga, spin, and pilates. Each of these spaces has separate temperature controls, audio sound; lighting controls and cushion wood floors.
Locker rooms have individual, full height, half height and box lockers to support member's needs. Showers, saunas and restrooms are centrally located to serve all the programs. Lobbies are spacious with casual seating, coffee and beverage centers and welcoming membership reception and administration areas.
